A Message from The Refounders

This past year has been a busy one. The Professional Fraternity Council (PFC) has grown to a peak of 18 organizations. We’ve expanded our capabilities, reformed our structure, and taken on new roles and responsibilities. Thanks to my administration, we have successfully laid the foundation for a stronger PFC.

Our core mission has remained the same for a decade now: we represent, support, and maintain the standards of professional fraternity life. We’ve always been motivated by the ideals of public service and philanthropy, and that approach remains a PFC standard to this day. Our members – ranging from pre-law to pre-med – represent some of the best and brightest of our fellow Wolverines. Indeed, I am fortunate to have been a part of such an amazing community with a diverse collective of individuals and interests. My interactions with our delegates and our partner organizations have taught me so much about professional fraternity life.

I’m especially grateful for each member of my team. Adam Liang brought new insights and an element of dynamism to our discussions. Edu Usoro was our anchor and kept us centered on our work throughout the year. Brett Fleischer always pushed us to explore in new directions. And Josh Kornblum devised creative solutions to the many challenges we faced.

My team has supported me from the very start – even when the Council’s future was uncertain. In fact, one of the first documents I created, as President, was a formal letter to prepare for a potential dissolution process. I’m glad to say that my team has never needed to consider that option. Over the course of this year, we’ve worked together to rebuild the Council from the ground up. I’m proud to call this exceptional group of individuals my dear friends.

It is my sincere hope that the Council will continue to stand with the professional fraternity community for the years to come. I’m grateful for all the support I’ve received from our partner organizations over this past year. I truly believe that together we’ve succeeded in pushing the boundaries on what the PFC can do as an organization. As I reflect upon my time at Michigan, my heart swells with pride over the Council’s work and the bright future it has ahead of it.

I am honored to have had this opportunity to serve.

Warren Yu
